How do I order? Do you have an online store?

We’ve been getting these questions fairly regularly! To place an order, please choose the board item number you would like from our current pieces. How do I maintain my board?

Good question! These boards will absolutely last for years and years, maybe even generations if you take care of them. BE GOOD TO YOUR WOOD!

Never submerge it in water! DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER! To clean, wipe the board with a wet cloth using hot, soapy water. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Always allow board to dry standing upright, never lay it flat to dry. Do not keep or store your board near excessive heat. Apply a food-grade oil (we use mineral oil) routinely and stand it on its side to soak in and dry. We also supply a free sample of our board butter with every board which you should apply to seal the board. Every two weeks is best for continual maintenance. Larger amounts of beeswax are available for purchase.

Can the boards be refurbished? Do you do that?

Boards can be brought back! We can offer refurbishing for boards in rough condition, typically re-flattening the wood, sanding (to remove some of those “chop chop” marks), oiling, and sealing with the same method we use in making. If some boards require more, well, we probably do that too!

What goes into making a board?

We get our sustainable wood from New Brunswick hardwood suppliers. The crafting process takes anywhere from 5-12 hours of active labour, not including setting and gluing the wood. This also means that while we can try to duplicate a design, there will always be variations in size and colour.

Are you really that environmentally conscious?

We certainly try to be! Along with our wood being sustainable, bought from local vendors, and us planting a tree with One Tree Planted for every single board we sell (once a board is sold, we put a One Tree Planted logo in the picture), we even use our sawdust to sprout grass seed. Waste not, want not!

I love your designs, but can I ask for something custom?

ChopChop is glad to offer any unique takes you can imagine. The price would vary depending on wood choice, complexity of design, and length of time. Please contact us and we can discuss further!

This all sounds great, how do I get my board?

Simply choose an item you like from our gallery. If you would like multiple boards, please be aware that they will not be identical. When we receive your order, we will make convenient delivery arrangements with you, so we can hand you your cutting board! If this includes shipping, we will add on only the cost of shipping to us, never any more.
